SHIFTED PATH — 3D Puzzle Platformer (Unity)
SHIFTED PATH is a short 3D puzzle platformer where the player can switch between two versions of the same environment in order to progress. Each world state alters the level geometry, enabling or disabling specific platforms and paths.
The game focuses on spatial awareness and decision-making rather than fast reflexes. The experience is built around a single, carefully designed level that introduces the core mechanic gradually, increases complexity, and concludes with a final sequence where the player fully understands and applies the system.
This project was developed as a portfolio piece, with a strong focus on gameplay programming, system design, and controlled project scope.
What this project demonstrates:
– Design of clear and consistent gameplay mechanics based on simple, deterministic rules.
– Implementation of a Rigidbody-based character controller, with a clear separation between ground and air control.
– Precise tuning of jump and movement behavior to respect level design constraints and prevent unintended solutions.
– A world-switching system fully driven by code.
– Level design built specifically around a single core mechanic, with progressive difficulty.
– Clean, readable, and maintainable code, with clear separation between input handling, logic, physics, and visual feedback.
Project goal:
To demonstrate the ability to design and implement a gameplay mechanic, build a level that fully supports it, and deliver a complete and polished project within a limited scope.
